#8 FIVE Ways to Deal with the Stress of Studying

Listen to the Podcast here:

Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out

Today we talk about something that everyone on this earth goes through; but could all deal with a little better. I’m talking about STRESS!

In this episode we go indepth into how you can be better at the SKILL that is studying and how you can achieve this in 5 simple steps

  1. KNOW YOUR WHY

  2. USE PRESENT TENSE POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS

  3. BE MINDFUL AND INTENTIONAL

  4. TAKE BREAKS

  5. BE KIND TO YOURSELF

As always, God bless and Happy Studying! - Dr. Lai

PS when's the last time you checked in with each part of your body? Here's a guide to how to go through your entire physical body to see where you may need some TLC

  1. Check in with your body

  2. Settle in to your body

  3. Notice the state of your body

  4. Start from the top

  5. NOTICE IF YOU'RE CARRYING ANY TENSION IN YOUR HEAD, STAY THERE FOR A BIT IF YOU ARE, AND JUST BE AWARE OF HOW THAT TENSION FEELS AND HOW YOUR BODY REACTS TO IT... IS YOUR HEAD TENSE? OR YOUR NECK? IS YOUR FACE SCRUNCHED UP? SOFTEN YOUR FACE, BREATHE IN AND BREATHE OUT AND LET THAT TENSION GO IN WHATEVER DIRECTION YOU'D LIKE, BUT JUST LET IT FLOAT AWAY FROM YOU

  6. NEXT LET'S CHECK IN WITH YOUR NECK, YOUR SHOULDERS, NOTICE ANY TENSION OR BLOCKAGE THERE? LET'S ROLL YOUR SHOULDERS FORWARD AND THEN BACK AND BREATHE IN AND OUT AT THE SAME TIME AND JUST RELAX INTO YOUR BODY A BIT MORE

  7. NOW REPEAT THIS WITH YOUR MIDDLE, HOW'S YOUR STOMACH BEEN FEELING? ARE YOU HUNGRY? DO YOU HAVE AN APPETITE? IS THAT FOOD DIGESTING WELL? YOU CAN EVEN PUT YOUR HAND ON YOUR STOMACH AND WARM IT UP A BIT AS YOU BREATHE IN AND OUT

  8. KEEP MOVING DOWN TO YOUR HIPS, YOUR LEGS, YOUR KNEES, YOUR FEET

  9. SCAN TO SEE IF YOU'RE HOLDING ANY TENSION AND BEGIN TO LET IT GO

  10. Start to settle into your surroundings, feel the environment around you, feel the space around you and the power of your body in it, feel the potential you have.

  11. There is so much potential in you and around you!
