3 cun lateral to the Governor Vessel, level with the lower border of the SP of T3 / also level with Ub-13

Indications (CAM)

Pulmonary Tuberculosis, hemoptysis, cough, asthma, neck rigidity, pain in the shoulder/back

Indications (Deadman)

• Tonifies / Nourishes the Lung

• Soothes Dyspnea / Alleviates cough

• Activates channel & relieves pain

Indications (Maciocia)

• Tonify the Lungs Sooth the Corporeal Soul (Po)

• Stimulate descending of Lung Qi

Needle Method

Obliquely 0.3 - 0.5 cun

Caution

Deep perp or deep oblique needling medially can cause a pneumothorax

• Posterior Branch of the intercostal artery

• Descending branch of the transverse cervical artery

Nearby nerves

• Medial cutaneous branches of the 2nd and 3rd thoracic nerves

• Dorsoscapular nerve

Location

3 cun lateral to the spine, level with the lower border of SP of T5 / also level with UB-15

Indications (CAM)

Asthma, cardiac pain, palpitation, stuffy chest, cough, stiffness and pain of the back

• Unbinds the chest

• Regulates Qi

• Activates channel & relieves pain

• Calm the Mind

• Subdue rebellious Qi
